A Song of Sirens surprised me in the best way. I went in expecting a sci‑fi action story and ended up with a character‑driven, myth‑infused, emotionally intense ride that hooked me from the first chapter.
The cast is incredible — each Siren feels distinct and layered. Adele’s identity crisis is heartbreaking, Lucy’s grounded humanity gives the story its emotional center, Cassandra’s transformation is chilling, and Demi… Demi is an absolute scene‑stealer. She’s chaotic, hilarious, terrifying, and unexpectedly tender all at once. Every time she shows up, the energy shifts.
The worldbuilding is rich without being overwhelming. The mix of futuristic tech, ancient myth, and supernatural power shouldn’t work together — but it does, and it feels seamless. The action scenes are vivid and cinematic, and the emotional beats hit hard.
The epilogue with Naomi is one of my favorite parts. It expands the world, raises the stakes, and sets up the next book with a perfect “oh no / oh YES” moment. It made me want to jump straight into Book II.
If you like sci‑fi with heart, mythology with teeth, and heroines who refuse to fit into neat boxes, this book is absolutely worth your time. A strong start to a trilogy that feels like it’s only getting warmed up.
